Missoni revolutionized knitwear, daring to knit slinky sweaters and crochet tracksuits instead of the chunky wool jumpers that were traditionally seen at the time. Created in 1953 by founders Ottavio and Rosita Missoni who set up a small knitwear workshop in Gallarate, Italy, went on to build an iconic brand. Whilst Ottavio was the pattern designer, Rosita would cut the shapes of the garments, leading to the creation of their famously recognizable chevron zigzag pattern.
